Last night as I was digging through old NYU folders/piles/stacks in search of my food photography class manual, I stumbled upon a little gem of a book that I had forgotten I owned. When I first bought Michael Pollan‘s Food Rules, I read through it twice in a matter of only a day or two. As you all know from my muffin recipes, I’m hooked on mini snacks. Apparently mini books also speak to me, because this is one of my top 10, all-time favorites. If I could afford to give it out to every client, I absolutely would.
The rules are simple, concise and practical with a twist of humor, which I always enjoy. The main premise of the book is, “Eat food. Mostly plants. Not too much.” Simple, yet brilliant.
For detailed descriptions, I strongly suggest investing in the book. Here’s a quick breakdown of the {100% RD-approved} rules.

Eat food.
Mostly plants.
Not too much.
Inspired? Me too!
Among the acknowledgements, Marion Nestle (of course). Another highly recommended food and nutrition author who will most certainly be in the list of acknowledgements in my first book one day.
Which rule is your favorite?
